Description

1960's Al Fischer Space Ranger Coin-Operated Kiddie Ride

This majestic 1960's Al Fischer Space Ranger coin-operated kiddie ride is extremely rare and beautifully restored. The Al Fischer & Co. was a large coin-operated kiddie ride manufacturer located in Ft. Thomas, KY. This example was discovered and restored by Jeff Russell of Big Boys Toys located in Oklahoma City, OK. The restoration was completed in January of 2024 and purchased by MS CLASSIC CARS shortly thereafter. April of 2024 is the first time it's ever been listed for sale.

The original fiberglass body is very straight throughout. A set of holes were cut out in the front and rear for carrying purposes. The body is outfitted with the original fiberglass rocket center wing and side “banjo” rocket wings. The body was dressed with steel rivets and painted gray to give it the aircraft appeal. The gray paint was decorated with red and yellow painted graphics that are outlined with black pin striping. The show quality paint was recently detailed to a high gloss shine. Some of the exterior features include a plastic windshield, stainless body molding, chrome boosters and functioning lights. The chrome boosters are vintage looking semi-truck marker lights. The coin mechanism was incorporated into the side “banjo” wing and operates by pushing the coin return piece. A reproduction tag was added directly below the coin mechanism. The dash was painted gray and the cabin was painted black. The dash was setup with two red buttons that activate the missile and machine gun sound box. The custom side panels and seat was upholstered in black stitched vinyl. It was outfitted with a correct style “Yoke” black steering wheel. The base was custom made and painted teal which complements the space ship colors perfectly. The show quality paint was also recently detailed to a high gloss shine. It was decorated with custom made Space Ranger colorful decal that was applied and clear coated over. The Dayton 1/3hp motor operates the International Carousel mechanisms. During the operation of the ride the sound box plays a rocket ship sound which makes the entire experience surreal. The video presented demonstrates everything.

This is a great opportunity to purchase a seldom-seen vintage coin-operated kiddie ride. It's truly a one-of-a-kind piece that will be the center of attention in any automobilia collection. It's a great display and conversation piece. It's also fully functional to show off to your family and friends. The vintage coin-operated kiddie ride market is hot and the prices are sky rocketing! Don't let this investment grade piece pass you by.
