“As the people who follow MS CLASSIC CARS know, I only collect number one and number two condition show quality inventory. 99% of the vehicles we've offered that are older than 1980 have been restored. We've only offered a handful of survivor vehicles with low original miles. These vehicles had great pedigree and were in show quality condition which reflected in strong sale prices. With that being said, the time has come around again where I'm offering an concours award winning survivor. This is the best 58 year old survivor I've ever seen! “Skippy” is a very special 1967 Porsche 912 Coupe with 83,641 original miles. The original owner who's still alive today was the caretaker of this car from 1967 to 2021 totaling 54 years. I purchased the car from the second owner and this is the first time the car has truly been exposed. This car has been on an amazing journey that the new owner can continue to be part of!” – Marc Schiliro

Dedicated to:
Mr. Robert Handzo
“The original owner from 1967-2021”

Known as, “Skippy” - this phenomenal 1967 Porsche 912 Coupe concours award winning survivor is a documented two-owner vehicle with 83,641 original miles. It retains its original factory serial tags, original body serial stamp, original color combination and original drivetrain. The Porsche 912 was produced from 1965 through 1969. In 1967, the factory welcomed the new 912 owner to the fold with these words, “Judging by the car you have chosen, you are a motorist of special caste”. As the Porsche Certificate of Authenticity documents this example had a production completion date of February 24th, 1967. It was finished in a Sand Beige exterior and Black Leatherette interior. The optional equipment included an antenna, Semperit 165/15 tires, raised steering wheel hub, bumper horns front and rear, Blaupunkt radio and loud speaker. As the original Bill of Sale documents, the car was shipped to Holbert's Garages, Inc. located in Warrington, Pennsylvania. It was sold on April 10th, 1967 to Mr. Robert Handzo who lived in Center Valley, Pennsylvania. The Bill of Sale reflects a total price of $5,252.95 including the car $4,865.00, 5-speed $80.00, AM-FM Radio $180.00, chrome wheels $100.00, bumper pads $16.00 and round type mirror $11.95. The dealership swapped the painted steel wheels with the chrome wheels off another new 912. Robert and his wife Judy joined the Porsche Club of America in 1971 and starting showing the car a short time later. It won awards in 5 Porsche Parades in 1972, 1974, 1976, 1978 and 1979. It's been in Parades in Colorado, Illinois, Maine, Maryland, Minnesota, Pennsylvania and Wisconsin. In February of 1988, it was featured on the cover of Excellence magazine including an 8-page article. The Excellence was a magazine about Porsche cars. Robert recorded dates, mileage, average mpg and service work from 1967 to 2021. Although the car was driven it was always treated with the best of care which is evident in its overall excellent condition. Matter of fact the car was stored in a 10mm polyester bag that was sealed vacuum tight. Robert decided to sell the car and placed an ad in the April 2021 edition of the Porsche Panorama which is the official magazine of the Porsche Club of America. It was purchased in May of 2021 by Terry and Catherine Sopher who live in Jacksonville, Florida. The car had 80,020 original miles at the time of purchase. Since purchasing the car from the original owner, they participated in the Classic Motorsports Smokey Mountains Tour and the 912 Registry Lake Chatuge Rendezvous along with many local PCA driving and social events. They competed in the PCA Amelia Works Reunion Concours F-body class winning 1st, 2nd and 3rd in class in 2022, 2023 and 2024. During their 3.5 years of ownership they invested over $11,000 in parts and service work. MS CLASSIC CARS purchased the car from the second owners in January of 2025 with 83,637 original miles. February of 2025 is the first time it's been listed for sale. Listed below are the items included with the car.

The exterior of this 912 is truly stunning especially considering its 58 years old and original. It presents like a vehicle that has been restored in number two condition which is remarkable. It retains 100% of its original factory sheet metal. The body lines and gaps are excellent which is impressive for a Porsche built in 1967. The body is free of any visible damage. The doors open and close so nicely! It retains of all its original factory Sand Beige paint with exception of the engine cover which was repainted. The original owner backed into a wire which put a small crease in it. The paint was tested for originality with an electronic paint meter by MS CLASSIC CARS and it passed. Photos of the paint meter readings and a video of paint meter readings are provided within the listing. The paint was recently detailed to a show quality finish by the team at MS CLASSIC CARS. As expected with 58 year old original factory paint there are small areas where the paint is starting to fade and there are some small chips which are mostly on the front of the hood. The second owners added the Porsche black vinyl stripes on the lower section of the body for aesthetic purposes. These decals are easily removable. The original factory stamped glass is in very good condition throughout with only minor signs of wear. The original factory stainless trim, wiper arms, antenna, headlight bezels, parking light bezels, front bumpers, drivers side mirror, rocker moldings, engine cover grill, tail light bezels, rear bumpers, emblems and rubber are also in very good condition throughout. The car was outfitted with modern H4 LED style headlights for improved nighttime visibility. The car rolls on its original factory chrome 15” wheels which are virtually flawless. The wheels are mounted to Pirelli Cinturato 165/VR15 tires with 2020 date codes. Everything on the exterior is in working order such as the parking lights, headlights, turn signals, brake lights, horn and wipers.

The interior of this 912 is also truly stunning especially considering its 58 years old and original. It presents like a vehicle that has been restored in number two condition or close to number one condition which is remarkable. The original wiring under the dash is in excellent condition. It retains its original factory Black Leatherette interior that shows virtually no signs of wear. The white perforated headliner and white sun visors are in excellent condition with no sagging. The original door sills, rear view mirror, dash pad, dash fascia, dash aluminum trim, gauges, temperature control panel, radio, steering wheel, door panels, bucket front seats, rear seats, seat belts, carpeting and pedals are in excellent condition. The rear folding seats with leather straps and carpeting allow for additional cargo space. Everything in the interior is in working order such as the interior lighting, gauges, temperature controls, radio and clock. The emergency brake light is also in working order.

The front trunk compartment of this 912 is also truly stunning especially considering its 58 years old and original. It presents like a vehicle that has been restored in number one condition which is remarkable. The backside of the hood and front nose section appears factory fresh. The wiring, gauges and air ducts are in excellent condition. The entire area retains the original factory black textured paint on the surfaces which shows beautifully. The carpeting on the sides is original and the larger center carper was replaced when the car was roughly 10 years old. It retains the original factory spare chrome wheel that's dated November of 1966. It also retains the original jack tools, plastic bottle, etc.

The engine compartment of this 912 is also truly stunning especially considering its 58 years old and original. The rear engine mount steel bar and pan has been removed multiple times and repainted. It presents like a vehicle that has been restored to number two condition which is remarkable. The inner engine compartment original blanket insulation is deteriorating. This nimble-handling 912 is powered by the original matching numbers 1.6L air cooled flat-4. The engine was from the last of the 356 models that was slightly detuned to 102 horsepower at 5800 rpm. The 912's high-efficiency boxer engine with low drag and low weight allowed it to get up to 30 miles per US gallon. This engine has 83,641 original miles and runs excellent. It's never been rebuilt and doesn't smoke at all during start up or while operating. The engine compartment has been recently serviced which is documented with invoices that can be viewed in the listing. The engine is coupled to the original factory 5-speed manual transmission. As the Bill of Sale documents this car was purchased with a 5-speed transmission which is still in the car today. The Porsche Certificate of Authenticity records for the transmission numbers and type are incorrect which has been noted in the listing. This could be a mistake made by Porsche Cars North America INC. or something the dealership changed prior to purchase.

The undercarriage of this 912 is also truly stunning especially considering its 58 years old and original. It presents like a vehicle that has been restored to number two condition which is remarkable. The floors retain the original factory black textured paint on the surfaces which shows beautifully. The original factory exhaust was repainted on the car by the team at MS CLASSIC CARS. The steering components, suspension and braking system have recently serviced which is documented with invoices that can be viewed in the listing.

Marc Schiliro has personally spoken to the original owner Mr. Robert G. Handzo regarding this car and all the details provided.
