“I'm excited to present this gorgeous original matching numbers 1970 Chevrolet Nova SS 350 with a 4-speed that's been certified by expert Jerry MacNeish. Finding an example comparable to this one is like finding a needle in a haystack. This car was with the previous owner for the last 29 years and this is the first time it's ever been listed for sale. This gorgeous original matching numbers 1970 Chevrolet Nova SS 350 with 4-speed has been restored to high show quality standards throughout. It was certified authentic by expert Jerry MacNeish of Camaro Hi-Performance on October 21st, 2024. The Data Analysis Report is included. In 1970, total production for the Nova SS was 19,558 of which included 13,991 SS 350 models. As the original Trim Tag indicates, this example was built during the 1st week of March, 1970 at the Ypsilanti, Michigan plant. It was ordered with the following options in order of code: (A01)- Sort-Ray tinted glass, (A51)- Strato bucket front seats,(C08)- black vinyl roof cover (C50)-rear window defroster, (D55)- center console, (G80)- positraction axle, (M20)- 4-speed transmission, (N40)- power steering, (U17)- special instrumentation, (U69)- AM/FM pushbutton radio, (ZJ1)- custom interior, (ZJ5)- exterior décor package, (ZJ7)- rally wheels, (Z26)- Nova SS equipment, (733)- black vinyl interior and (10-10) Classic White exterior. A reproduction window sticker is included. The original selling dealer was Galles Chevrolet Company located in Albuquerque, New Mexico. The original Galles dealership emblem is included. The car was purchased in 1999 by Barry Williams who lives in Alton Bay, New Hampshire. Barry purchased the car as a survivor with roughly 90,000 miles on the odometer. He drove the car for one summer and then put it away in storage. Barry was a mechanic by trade and owned multiple service centers. He sold his company and twenty-two years later he pulled the car out of storage to bring it back to showroom new condition. He completely disassembled the entire car in preparation of a complete refurbishment. The rotisserie body-off restoration started in the spring of 2022 and was completed in the fall of 2024. Restoration photos are included. Barry spared no-expense which resulted in a masterpiece. MS CLASIC CARS purchased the car directly from Barry in October of 2025. MS CLASSIC CARS has completely serviced and detailed this vehicle which is documented with an invoice that's included.

The exterior of this Nova SS is stunning with its popular factory design and eye-catching color combination. During the restoration process the body was stripped and media blasted. It retains all of its original sheet metal which exception of the driver's side rear quarter and tail light panel. The body was prepped to be very straight with excellent panel fitment throughout. The hood, doors and trunk lid close very nicely. It was refinished in its original color of Classic White which looks amazing especially in person. The high quality paint work is absolutely stunning and was recently detailed by the team at MS CLASSIC CARS. It was outfitted with a new black vinyl top which fits like a glove and black body side molding. The front windshield, vent glass, door glass, quarter glass and rear windshield was replaced new. The glass has the correct shade of tint and with part number data stamps. Everything on the exterior was restored or replaced such as the stainless glass trim, wiper arms, hood vents, driver's side mirror, front grill, lighting bezels, front bumper, rear bumper and emblems. The plastic lenses were replaced new and have the correct part number for year. It was outfitted with 7” Classic German Hella H4 LED headlights for improved visibility. All the rubber on the body was also replaced new. It rolls on new 14” Super Sport wheels that are mounted to new Goodyear Polyglas F70-14 tires that were added by the team at MS CLASSIC CARS.

The interior of this Nova SS presents extremely fresh throughout. It was restored in its original color of black. The entire cabin was stripped to bare metal and covered with Hushmat sound insulation. A new black headliner, sun visors and rear package tray was installed. All of the wiring, switches and cables were replaced using American Autowire harness's with glass fuse box. The original dash pad and speedometer assembly were restored. All bulbs were replaced with LED for improved viability. The original blower motor with correct part number and build date was restored. The steering column was completely rebuilt with new bearings, ignition switch, directional switch and lock assembly. A new console with gauges was installed. The front and rear door panels were replaced new. The original armrests were reused because the reproduction pieces are incorrect. The original bucket seats and rear seat were reupholstered. Some other new parts include the door sills, rear view mirror, steering wheel, door handles, window rollers, Hurst shifter with white shift knob, seat belts, pedals and carpeting. It was outfitted with a modern Antique Auto Radio with a stereo dual center dash speaker. The trunk compartment was beautifully restored and refinished in the correct style trunk splatter paint. It's equipped with a new matching spare and jack tools that were added by the team at MS CLASSIC CARS.

The engine compartment of this Nova SS is highly detailed throughout with many new parts. It's one of the most detailed engine compartments ever offered from the MS CLASSIC CARS Collection. The hood hinges and latch assembly were phosphate coated to match the original coating. The firewall, inner fenders and radiator support was refinished in the correct shade of black. The car is powered by the original matching numbers “L48” 350 V8 engine that was factory rated with 300hp. The engine was assembled on March 3rd, 1970. This engine was professionally rebuilt by Peterson's Machining located in Belmont, New Hampshire. The engine was completely disassembled and bored to .030 over stock. It was setup with new pistons, rings, rod bearings, main bearings, etc. It was also setup with a roller cam shaft and roller tip rockers. The cylinder heads were resurfaced with new valves, springs and retainers. The Rochester 4-bbl carburetor is stamped #7040213 which is correct for all L48 engines in 1970 except for CA emissions. The engine was dressed with the original restored GM finned aluminum valve covers and original chrome air cleaner. The Delco distributor is #1111996 which is correct for the L48 engine in 1970 with date code 9M3 which is December 3, 1969. The Delco alternator #1100834 is correct for the L48 engine without air conditioning with date code of February 4th, 1970 which lines up with the build date of this vehicle. The Delco starter motor #1108418 is correct for the L48 with 11” clutch assembly and the date code of 0A26 lines up perfectly with the build date of this vehicle. The engine is cooled by a new period correct radiator manufactured by the Chicago Radiator Company. The date code correct GM water pump was rebuilt with new shaft and bearings. The engine breathes through new reproduction exhaust manifolds with correct GM numbers and new Gardner Concours Show Package dual exhaust system with small block deep tone. The cost of the manifolds and exhaust system alone was almost $2,000.00! The engine is coupled to the original matching numbers M20 Muncie 4-speed manual transmission that was assembled on February 23, 1970. The transmission was completely rebuilt and shifts smoothly. The power is transferred to the original matching numbers rear axle that was assembled on March 3, 1970. The positract rear axle was completely rebuilt and is equipped with 3.31 gears. Yes, this example retains the original engine, transmission and rear end that it was born with.

The undercarriage of this 1970 Nova SS is also highly detailed throughout out with many new parts. The underside was originally white from the factory prior to the restoration so they were refinished in white utilizing a bed liner material for durability. The inner wheel wells were painted black also with a durable finish. The sub frame was media blasted and powder coated in the correct shade of black. All of the sub frame bushings were replaced new. Some of the engine brackets, pulleys, fan and steering shaft were also powder coated black. The original upper and lower control arms were restored with new bushings installed as well as the ball joints, tie end rods, sleeves, idler arm, pitman arm and steering box. The original front springs were retained. The new rear springs were changed from 4 leaf to 5 leaf to achieve the correct attitude of the car. The rear springs were completely disassembled and media blasted. Each leaf was refinished to match a phosphate original appearance and then reassembled. The Delco brake booster is stamped #9204 which is correct for the 1970 Nova, the date code is the 42nd day of 1970. The Delco master cylinder casting is #5470409 which is correct for all Noves with factory installed J52 brakes. The master cylinder was bored, sleeved and the cover was restored. The brake booster metering valves and proportion valve was also restored to the correct finish. The steel and rubber brake hoses were replaced with original matching finish. The front calipers were restored with new seals, pistons and bushings. The rear wheel cylinders were replaced with Delco parts as well as the shoes, springs and parking brake cables. The rear drums were retained as they appeared to be original equipment. It was outfitted with a new gas tank with original equipment fuel lines, sending unit and AC Delco fuel pump with correct numbers.
