1979 Honda ATC110 – “One of the Best”
“Over the years we've offered some outstanding motocross motorcycles, mini-bikes and scooters. However, we've never offered an ATC which is an All-Terrain Cycle. The ATC was introduced in the U.S. in 1969 as a 1970 model and banned from new sales for safety related concerns in 1987. The Honda ATC110 refers to the popular Honda All-Terrain Cycle which is a durable three-wheeled off road vehicle produced from 1979 to 1985. It's known for its 105cc engine, automatic clutch, high/low transmission and balloon tires. This first year 1979 model was the product of a nut and bolt restoration that was completed in 2025. It is in show quality condition throughout and simply one of the best!” – Marc Schiliro
This eye-catching 1979 Honda ATC110 is a great example and simply one of the best! The Honda US90, later renamed the ATC90, was a three-wheeled Recreational vehicle designed by Osamu Takeuchi. Development began in 1967, in response to requests from American dealers for products to sell in the motorcycle off-season. Takeuchi considered many variations before settling on a three-wheeled design with low-pressure balloon tires, driven by an enlarged Honda ST70 engine through a 4-speed dual range semi-automatic clutched transmission. It was introduced in the U.S. in 1969 as a 1970 model. The first generation US90 was produced from 1970 to 1973. The second generation ATC90 was produced from 1974 to 1978. The third generation was produced from ATC110 was produced from 1979 to 1985. The fourth generation ATC125M was produced from 1984 to 1985. The ATC became hugely popular but safety concerns led to a U.S. ban on new sales of three-wheeled ATVs in 1987, paving the way for four-wheelers. This first year 1979 Honda ATC110 model was the product of a nut and bolt restoration. It discovered, owned and restored by Jeff Saucier who lives in Rhode Island. Jeff purchased it in the summer of 2023 with the restoration beginning in early December 2024 and it was completed in late September of 2025. Jeff invested countless hours and dollars in this endeavor. All of the NOS Honda parts were sourced from all over the world including the United Kingdom, Japan, Australia, Canada and the United States. It was purchased directly from Jeff by MS CLASSIC CARS in December of 2025 and January of 2026 is the first time it's been listed for sale.
This original example was completely disassembled down to the bare frame. Everything was sand blasted, primed and painted. Four coats of clear coat sealer were then applied to all painted surfaces. All painted surfaces are factory Honda Tahitian Red. The original steel Honda gas tank was cleaned and completely sealed inside. The front fender is original to this ATC and the rear fender is a new reproduction. All fender hardware is original or refinished. Some of the smaller hardware is new reproduction. All the graphics are new reproduction to original factory standards. It has a new steel seat pan, new modern foam cushion with original Honda seat cover. It was setup with all new wiring including a complete wiring harness. All the electrical components are factory new. The kill switch and switch housing are NOS Honda parts. The front end was stripped and repainted also. It has all new steering and head bearings with modern bearings. The front forks are original with factory original handlebars and grips. The rear drive hub was also completely disassembled and rebuilt with all new updated modern bearings and seals. It's powered by the original 105cc air-cooled, four-stroke engine with a dual range four-speed automatic transmission with automatic clutch. The engine was not rebuilt internally as it was a low hour original example and runs excellent. The outer cases were removed, bead blasted and painted factory Honda Cloud Silver. The original exhaust system was prepped and repainted. The chrome exhaust shields are rare original factory NOS Honda. Some of the other original factory NOS Honda parts include the headlight bucket, lens, chrome trim ring, chrome grab rail, rear taillight, foot pegs, runner fender mud flaps, sprockets and drive chain. The wheels and tires were removed. The wheels were replaced with one piece seamless ATM steel wheels. The wheels were mounted to new tubeless tires. All of the wheel bearings were replaced with new modern bearings. Every nut and bolt on this ATC was removed, refinished or replaced with factory original NOS Honda.
