This 1970 Camaro Z28 Custom known as “Bloodshot” is arguably the best second generation Camaro we've ever offered! The body and Viper Red paint work is exceptional. It's loaded with high end accessories throughout. It's achieved many prestigious awards. It's been featured in a calendar, on Scottie TV and in multiple magazines. Known as, “Bloodshot” – this amazing 1970 Chevrolet Camaro Z28 Custom is restored to high show a quality standard which is evident throughout. As the original VIN Tag indicates this example was built in Norwood, Ohio as a 1970 Chevrolet Camaro with an 8-cylinder engine. As the original Cowl Tag indicates it was built on the third week of January as a Z28 model with a Citrus Green Metallic with black stripes exterior and Green Vinyl interior. The car was equipped with a standard flat hood and front bumper. The car was purchased by its original owner Tommy Whitaker “Dobber” who lived in Galax, Virginia. The car remained with Tommy until his passing. It was purchased in 2013 by Randy and Kathy Wilson who live in Woodlawn, VA. Randy was friendly with Tommy and kept the car on his radar since it was new. Tommy's wish was for Randy to the own car if anything ever happened to him. When Tommy passed Randy purchased this car with only 28,000 original miles from his widow. Randy and his wife Kathy had a vision of restoring this car as a modern version of a Z28 without compromising too much of its original styling. The six year rotisserie nut and bolt no expense spared restoration was completed in 2020. The vision came to life and turned out better than ever imagined. It was immediately taken on the show circuit where it became a star and achieved many prestigious awards. It was also featured in a calendar and in multiple magazines. The original Cowl Tag, awards, calendar and magazine are included. MS CLASSIC CARS purchased the car directly from Randy and Kathy Wilson in April of 2026 and May of 2026 is the first time it's been listed for sale. This is one of the nicest second generation Camaros on planet earth and the fact it was originally born a Z28 puts it in a league of its own.
The exterior of this '70 Camaro Z28 is absolutely electrifying with its iconic factory design and gorgeous color combination. It was sent to Terry's Body Shop located in Meadows of Dan, Virginia for the bodywork and paint. During the restoration process the rust free body was completely stripped to bare metal. It retains all of its original sheet metal with exception of the Goodmark cowl hood which was added for aesthetics. The factory holes under the hood and deck lid were filled for a smooth appearance. The body is extremely straight and it was excellent panel fitment throughout. It was refinished in PPG Viper Red with PPG black racing stripes which dress it perfectly. The original styled sporty exterior mirrors add the extra touch of class. The high show quality paint was recently detailed by the team at MS CLASSIC CARS to a mirror like shine. The car was outfitted with all new tinted glass throughout that was sourced from Auto City Classics. The glass is outline with original styled trim that was recessed and painted black. It was outfitted with a one-off black billet front grill and matching parking light grills that were fabricated by Dan Baker. The front end was upgraded with Rally Sport styled chrome split bumpers that match the custom parking light bezels. Everything on the exterior has been replaced new such as the headlight bezels, Rigid LED headlights, black front spoiler, red marker lights on front fenders, Anvil billet door handles, lower rocker molding, tail light bezels, LED tail lights, rear chrome bumper and emblems. The chrome plating was done by Advanced Plating located in Portland, Tennessee. It has a killer stance on Billet Specialties Turbine polished wheels that are 18x8 on the front and 20x12 on the rear. The wheels are mounted to Diamond Back Redline tires that are 225/45R/18 on the front and 335/30R/20 on the rear. A set of Detroit Mini Tubs from Kyle Tucker were installed to accommodate the massive rare tires.
The interior of this '70 Camaro Z28 was tastefully designed incorporating the exterior modern motif. During the restoration process the cabin was taken to a bare shell and covered with Second Skin sound deadening insulation for noise and heat reduction. The new American Autowire wiring was sourced from Rude Dudes Rod Shop located in Bellmawr, New Jersey. The interior was professionally completed by Steven Everhart of Trimmer's Trim Shop located in Lexington, North Carolina. The front and rear custom bucket seats are extremely comfortable. The headliner, door panels, console and seating surfaces was upholstered in black leather. The leather was decorated with diamond stitching, red stitching, stainless accents and mesh grills. The flooring was covered with Daytona black carpeting with custom molded Z28 embossed floor mats. The Anvil carbon fiber door sills match the carbon fiber dash bezel that houses Autometer Pro Comp Ultra-Lite silver gauges. The lower section of the new factory styled dash was new vents and temperature control panel. It's equipped with an Ididit tilt steering column with billet lever and Sparc Industries steering wheel with matching leather. Some other interior features include a new rear view mirror, billet dash knobs, Ring Brothers black biller shifter, black billet window cranks, cup holders, storage compartment, seat belts and Lokar pedals. It's equipped with a JBL stereo head unit with Polk Audio speakers. The deck lid pivots on custom black billet hinges with pumps to keep it up. The trunk compartment was boxed and upholstered to match the interior.
The engine compartment of this '70 Camaro Z28 is highly detailed throughout with all new parts. It was designed to appear like a modern version of the original Z28 LT1. The hood pivots on Ring Brothers black billet hinges. The firewall was covered with an Anvil carbon fiber cover and painted PPG gloss black. The windshield wiper motor was removed and a new Raingear wiper motor was hidden under the cowl. New wiper arms with blades are included but haven't been installed for any potential damage to hood, glass or cowl area. The custom inner fenders were fabricated by Harvey Ward and Mickey Allen. It's equipped with Eddie Motorsports black billet inner fender braces. The cowl panel and radiator support panel were fabricated by Jason Perry. The battery is located underneath the radiator support panel and is accessible. This car is powered by a 383ci V8 (Gen 4) that was sourced new from GM Performance. The engine was sent to Foley Engines located in Stuart, Virginia for modifications. The engine is rated at 525hp at 5,500 RPM. Some of the parts include a 4340 steel crankshaft, forged rods, hypereutectic pistons, Comp Cams LT1 hydraulic roller, Comp Cams valves, 1.6 rocker arms, Comp Cams push rods, GM fast-burn aluminum heads and ARP bolts. It's feed through a FiTech with Ultra Ram intake and air cleaner that is run on a Holley Terminator management system. The engine was dressed with GM center-bolt valve covers, Edelbrock water pump and Concept One pulley system. Some other parts include a MSD ignition system, Wilwood master brake cylinder, billet reservoirs, and braided lines. The engine is cooled by a custom BeCool aluminum radiator with dual electric fans. The engine breathes through Sanderson ceramic coated headers and a Karnage Performance 2.5” stainless dual exhaust system with polished outlets. The engine is coupled to a new Tremec TKO-600 5-speed transmission that was sourced from Liberty's Gear located in Taylor, Michigan. The transmission was upgraded with carbon fiber sliders and it's equipped with a RAM twin-disc hydraulic clutch. The power is transferred with an aluminum driveshaft to the custom 9” Spicer rear end housing by Sprakers Racing. The rear end was built with a Detroit Tru-Trac, Moser 31-spline axles and Moser 3.70 gears.
The undercarriage of this '70 Camaro Z28 is also highly detailed throughout with all new parts. The underside of this car should be displayed with mirrors at a car show. The floors were stripped and refinished in PPG gloss black that matches the engine compartment. It's equipped with a Heidts Pro-G subframe with polished control arms, 2” drop spindles, 2” sway bar, QA1 adjustable coilover shocks, 275-pound springs, power rack and pinion steering. The frame trimming was completed by R&D Racing located in Reidsville, North Carolina. It's equipped with Art Morrison subframe connectors and 4-bar system with Strange coilover adjustable shocks and 175-pound springs. The braking system consists of Wilwood four wheel disc brakes with drilled and slotted rotors. It was outfitted with a Rick's Tanks stainless fuel tank.
