Known as, The Killer Hot Rod, this all-steel 1937 Chevrolet Business Coupe Custom is a modern day version of an iconic American automobile. This business Coupe is truly all business with its Don Hardy LS3/636HP V8 engine, Tremec T-56 Magnum 6-speed manual transmission and Street Rod Garage Chassis. Its loaded with options such as one off aluminum wheels, custom leather upholstery, Classic Instruments gauges, So-Cal steering column and steering wheel, Old Air AC system, Retrosound system, Hooker headers, 3 Flowmaster exhaust, power rack and pinion steering, Strange Engineering coilovers and Wilwood four wheel disc brakes. Its achieved the Goodguys Rod and Custom Association Builders Choice Top 10 Award in 2017 and 2018. It was featured in Modern Rodding magazine in the October 2021 edition.

From the information gathered this vehicle was born as a 1937 Chevrolet Business Coupe with the Master Deluxe trim. In 2011, it was discovered for sale in California by a gentleman named Hank Miller who resides in Texas. As the copy of the California title indicates this vehicle was sold new in 1936 which is where it spent its life until Hanks acquisition. He purchased this hard to find vehicle because it was solid and retained all the original sheet metal. His intention was to build a modern day version of an iconic American automobile. He collaborated with Killer Hot Rods and Customs located in Texas to bring his vision to life. The build started in 2012 and was completed in 2017. Countless hours and dollars were invested in what became a five year meticulous restoration. Once the build was completed Hank enjoyed the vehicle including taking it to multiple car shows where it received great press. In July of 2018 with just 500 miles on the odometer he sold the car to a gentleman named Richard Schwartz who resides in New Jersey. At the time of purchase the vehicle was powered by a Smeding-built 572 V8 engine that was rated with 700HP. Richard enjoyed the vehicle for a few years adding a few hundred miles. Both Hank and Richard agreed the 572 V8 engine was just too much engine for the vehicle especially with a 950cfm Quick Fuel carburetor. Richard made the decision that he wanted to upgrade to a modern engine that would be more user friendly. In mid-2020 he contacted Nick Ryan the owner of Killer Hot Rods and Customs to send the vehicle back for another transformation. Some of the new upgrades included all new American Auto Wiring, tires, painting bucket seats, trunk shocks, painting rails in trunk, LS3 engine, fuel system, cooling system, clutch, braking components and suspension components. These upgrades with parts and labor exceeded over $50,000.00! The transformation was completed in 2021 and the odometer currently logged a total of 1,127 miles. Richard decided to sell the vehicle because lack of time to enjoy. MS CLASSIC CARS purchased the vehicle from Richard in May of 2022.

The exterior of this amazing street machine is absolutely gorgeous with its stylish design, color, wheels and stance. During the build the floor, trunk floor, tunnel, rear wheel wells and bottom rear panel below the truck were fabricated to accommodate the custom Street Rod Garage Chassis that was power coated satin black. The bumpers were also removed and the holes were smoothed over. The original all-steel body is extremely straight with excellent gap lines throughout. The center split folding vented hood, doors and trunk lid close very nicely. It was outfitted with custom running boards that fit like a glove. Hank spent almost 40 years in the Army and wanted a color that would represent his time in the military and also the vintage Harley Davidson motorcycles. He chose Olive Drab which was the perfect color choice. The Olive Drab Basecoat was cleared with Sherwin Williams Ultra 7000 Premium Finishes. The paint went through a 5-stage color sanding and polishing process that resulted in a spectacular finish. The paint work on the vehicle is over the top and has recently been detailed to a brilliant shine. All of the tinted glass is new and crystal clear. The side vent glass has painted covers over them which add the extra touch of class. Everything on the exterior was restored or replaced such as the wipers, dual mirrors, side mounted antenna, front nose ornament, Alumicraft grill, headlight trim, reflectors, original Chevrolet stamped lens and rear taillights. The Killer Hot Rod sits on one-of-a-kind Circle Racing billet aluminum wheels that were power coated black with Chevrolet center caps. The front wheels are 18x8 with Continental Extreme Contact 225-45-18 tires and the rear wheels are 20x12 with Continental Extreme Contact 295-45-20 tires.

The interior was tastefully designed and fully customized by Delgados Upholstery and Trim Shop located in Texas. Prior to the new interior going into the vehicle it was covered with Restomod Air sound deadening to keep it cool and quiet from road noise. The dash and trim pieces were painted Olive Drab. The saddle colored synthetic leather upholstery includes the headliner, sun visors, underneath dash panels, steering wheel wrap, door panels, seats, shift lever boot and emergency brake cover. Its equipped with Speedway bomber seats that were fabricated to slide back and forth. Its equipped with seat belts for safety. Everything in the interior was replaced new such as the dome light, rear view mirror, door handles, window rollers and classic loop pile carpeting. Some of the custom features include Classic Instruments vintage style gauges with mounted tachometer, LimeWorks steering column, drop and turn signal control, So-Cal steering wheel, Old Air A/C system with controls in glovebox, Retro-sound Bluetooth radio, 4 Infinity front and rear speakers, shifter with black shift knob, Wilwood pedals and Lokar E-brake lever. The trunk compartment was also tastefully designed and fully customized by Delgados Upholstery and Trim Shop. It was treated with matching saddle colored synthetic leather upholstery. The stair step platform slats were painted Olive Drab to match the theme. It houses an 18 gallon stainless fuel tank that is mounted under the trunk in the frame. Two metal compartments with straps were added to each corner which adds character. The passenger side covers a portion of the battery.

The engine compartment is highly detailed throughout with many custom features. The split center folding vented hood allows access from both sides. The firewall wall and inner fenders were painted Olive Drab for a clean appearance. It has an updated American Autowire wiring harness. The heart of this sweet ride is a Don Hardy 416ci LS3 that was dyno tested with 636HP. The engine block and Chevrolet scripted valve covers were painted Olive Drab to match the theme. The engine was outfitted with a Holley Terminator X engine management system, Holley EFI fuel rails, Russell Performance 6an fuel hose fittings and Concept One Victory serpentine system. This engine runs and sounds excellent. It breathes through Hooker headers and a custom 3 stainless steel exhaust system with Magnaflow mufflers. This entire exhaust system was ceramic coated. The engine is cooled by a custom aluminum radiator with SPAL electric fan. The engine is coupled to a Tremec T-56 Magnum 6-speed manual transmission that shifts precisely through the gears. Its equipped with a RST Stage 2 twin disc clutch which is smooth to operate. The power is sent through the custom 3.5 driveshaft and narrowed Ford 9 POSI rear end with 31-spline axles and 3.70 gears.

The undercarriage is also highly detailed throughout with many custom parts. The underside should be displayed with mirrors at a car show. The floors and inner fenders were finished with Olive Drab textured paint for durability. The SRG chassis is a sculpted frame complete with their exclusive inner structure trussing. Its fully boxed, back-welded, ground, all body mounting, core support mounting, strong SRG member and port holes for exhaust. All frame components are CNC cut for accuracy. The SRG-Force independent front suspension includes front cross member in the frame, Flaming River power rack and pinion steering, SRG adjustable tubular upper and lower control arms, Mustang spindles, stabilizer bar with all Energy Suspension Urethane bushings and Strange Engineering coilovers. The SRG-Force rear suspension system includes Watts linkage lateral control, 4-link axle control, stabilizer bar with all Energy Suspension Urethane bushings and Strange Engineering coilovers. Its equipped with a Wilwood Dynalite Big Brake package front and rear which includes the master cylinders, proportioning valve, 13 front rotors with 6-piston calipers and 13 rear rotors with 4-piston calipers.

A custom show board, four copies of Modern Rodding magazine, engine build specs, engine dyno sheet, miscellaneous receipts and photos of the restoration are included.
